Collection: Milling Vises

A good milling vise is characterized by its sturdy construction, typically made of cast iron (ductile) or hardened steel, with stress-relieved components to maintain accuracy under heavy cutting loads.

It features a wedge mechanism that pulls the movable jaw down onto the bed, preventing the part from being lifted due to deflection as the jaws are tightened and operates smoothly and repeatably.

The vise should also have precision-ground contact surfaces for consistent clamping force and superior jaw parallelism to prevent part distortion during clamping operations.
